Peddle Power Website Design

Peddle Power actually already had a website – they had paid a lot of money for it. However the designer had given them the design template and left them to figure out how to use it – these guys are awesome electric-bike-building welders not web designers! Leave the geek stuff to us, its easy for us to do and allows you time to concentrate on what your company is amazing at.

If you’re thinking of having a website changed or created, have a look at how many forms are on this site – we’ve made it really easy for potential customers to get in touch. This ‘call to action’ is essential. Always have a site designed with the customer, not the business in mind. Think about what the customer wants to know and make sure its really easy for them to get there.

Packaging & Web Design – Dingleball

Dingleball wanted a bright, fun, kid/family focused design for their outdoor game. We’ve been really happy working with Dingleball and have done their website and promotional set up too. Dingleball got our full web set up package which includes domain name set up, email set up, website, facebook page and social media integration. What kind of website do you need?

This is often the first question I ask when I’m asked to quote for a website. Often, the customer doesn’t really know the options that are available. So here I’m going to give a few examples of the types of website you can have.


The business card

A simple one-page website with details about your company and how to get in touch. Even this small, unassuming presence means that you are suddenly visible to a new world of potential clients. This is very probably the cheapest way to get online.

The static site

This can be one-page or multi page, but the content stays the same. You can have as much information as you want – about us, contact us, a gallery, links to social media etc. If you want anything to change you’ll need to contact your administrator/designer/developer. They will go and edit the website for you. This type of website is cheaper to set up, but you will need to consider the future costs of the editing.

The dynamic site

As above for the static site, except that your developer codes in an administration page which you can log into. You can then edit specific, pre-set areas of your site. This is often not cost effective since a dynamic page (changeable) is much more complex to code and can easily add several hundred pounds to your initial costs. It might be worth looking into a blog.

The blog

An editable (dynamic) website that is administered by you via a content management system such as wordpress. You log in and can change both the layout and add posts/slides/new pages. You have a lot more freedom here, but be careful not to undo your designers careful set up work! You can have a blog website set up that acts more like a static page, but this does take a little effort on the side of the designer. Blogs are best used for companies that have the time to dedicate to upload new content, and who have relevant content to give. This website is a blog website – have a look around! The blog is a medium cost set up that gives a lot of functionality.

The 3rd party powered store

This is a website where products and/or services are offered for sale via the Internet, but the checkout system is powered with Paypal, or some other 3rd party money management system. This is the lowest cost way to offer items for sale and it is often much more trusted by customers than a stand alone payment system store.

The stand alone payment system store

This is a website offering products and/or services for sale, where the checkout and payment system is all in-house. This means your customers register for an account with you, and payment processing is done directly to your company. This is the most expensive way to set up a store website as it involves secure hosting (where https:// is at the beginning of the web address), as well as some complex secure communications direct to your card processing system. Don’t expect to get this type of website for anything less than £2000!

The web application

This is where you have some sort of idea which requires customers to have an account, or a custom made data system to be created. Think of Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, IMDb, Wikipedia, Dating sites etc etc. These are all websites that have some complex thought behind them. These sites are the most expensive to set up, but boy do they have the potential for the biggest payouts! If you have an idea, you’ll need a good design company. You need a graphic designer, a User Experience (UX) Designer and a developer (programmer), and probably a few more skills in there such as project management, administration, accounting. You can get a lower cost head start by consulting with us, since we have Kim who is a designer/developer with UX and management experience. We can either do the whole application or we can manage the project, bringing in the right handpicked personnel for the job to be a success.



Remember, you can have combinations of all of the above – this is the advantage of having a technically minded designer/developer!
